At this new event, a VBP planning masterclass, law firm leaders will learn how they can go about conducting a change management project. How to create the tools needed to make a start and hear from speakers around the world who have “been there done that”, and implemented value-based pricing in their own organisations.
We make no bones about it, this event has ambitious aims. They are:-
1 .Create an event enabling delegates to meet in a relaxed atmosphere, learn and exchange views, ideas, thoughts, and information about pricing and capturing value. Create tools to use in their businesses and, where appropriate, blatantly, unashamedly, unreservedly, without fear or favour learn about and challenge the established model of charging by the billable hour.
2. To bring together law firm leaders and decision makers. Those with a desire for change and a
thirst for knowledge
3. Create a new collaborative meeting with interactive sessions to explain the benefits of value-based pricing and create project plans and templates that can be taken away and used in organisations who wish to change.
Included in the delegate fee are:
• Access to the Pricing Confidence Survey tailored for your firm.
• A copy of ‘Ditch The Billable Hour!’ by Shaun Jardine.
• A copy of ‘Our Iceberg is Melting’ by John Kotter.
• Firm-wide access to the VBP Colony.

Value-Based Pricing One-Day Masterclass | Bristol
The professional services market is changing fast.
AI is causing law firms to reassess how they charge for their services. Clients are asking sharper questions. Lawyers are questioning whether the billable hour is still fit for purpose. And firms that want to remain competitive need to think seriously about pricing, value, scope and profitability.
This one-day Value-Based Pricing Masterclass is for law firm leaders, partners, heads of department, pricing champions and anyone interested in moving beyond simply selling time.
Hosted at the offices of Osborne Clarke in Bristol on Thursday 10 September 2026, this practical and interactive session will explore how law firms can start implementing value-based pricing in a structured and sensible way.
During the day, we will look at:
• What clients really want when they buy legal services
• Why AI makes the billable hour look increasingly exposed
• The core principles of value-based pricing
• How to create pricing options that give clients genuine choice
• How to scope properly and reduce scope creep
• How to start building a practice-area pricing guide — the Big Book of Usefulness
• How to approach VBP as a change management project
• The headline elements of Shaun Jardine’s 8 P Point Plan™ for implementing value-based pricing in a law firm
Delegates will receive practical tools, training materials and access to Declan AI, the world’s only pricing penguin, to help them make a start back at the office.
This is not a theoretical lecture about why the billable hour is flawed. Most lawyers already know that.
The bigger question is: what do you do instead, and how do you take people with you?

The Australian legal market is widely recognised as being ahead of the UK in its adoption of value-based pricing. Many Australian firms have already moved away from traditional time-based billing models and have embraced more client-centred ways of pricing legal work.
This special afternoon event brings that experience to London.
Join John Chisholm one of Australia’s leading authorities on value-based pricing for professional services firms, and Shaun Jardine of Big Yellow Penguin, for an interactive and practical session exploring how law firms can move beyond the billable hour.
The afternoon will include:
• A keynote presentation from John Chisholm on implementing value-based pricing in legal practice
• A Possibility Thinking session led by Shaun Jardine on the question: How can law firms possibly charge for legal services when using AI tools?
• A 90-minute interactive Q&A with John Chisholm, held under Chatham House rules
• Practical insights into how Australian firms have made the transition and what UK firms can learn from their experience
This event is designed for managing partners, firm leaders, heads of pricing, finance, business development and innovation, and lawyers who know that hourly billing is becoming increasingly difficult to defend in an AI-enabled legal market.
Places are limited to allow for meaningful discussion, practical questions and proper conversation.
Booking price: £400 plus VAT per delegate
Includes refreshments, 30 days’ access to Declan AI, and a 12-month licence for the Value Voyage digital training course.
